BUSOGA KINGDOM DOES NOT SELL LAND-SAYS KYABAZINGA Kyabazinga of Busoga William Gabula Nadiope IV has warned his subjects against buying Kingdom land adding that Busoga Kingdom does not sell its land to public. Kyabazinga said the Kingdom does not lease land to an individual and does not give free hold titles for its land. He said that ObwaKyabazinga Bwa Busoga Institution only leases land to whoever requests for it with interests on developing Busoga sub region. This was in his message to his subjects during celebrations of his 9th Coronation Anniversary at Namungalwe saza grounds in Kigulu chiefdom, Iganga district on September 13th. "No one is a signatory to documents concerning land in the Kingdom. It is only me who is signitory to all lease documents concerning land." "Another person to do so is Prime Minister Dr. Muvawala after getting my concent and after me signing on documents and he should work on partnership with the Uganda Registration Services Bureau offices," Kyabazinga stressed. He also re-emphasised Unity of purpose in among his subjects. The Kyabazinga also appreciated sponsors who sponsored the event and urged his subjects to plant food, fruit and medical trees. Prior to the event Kyabazinga paid a courtesy to former MUBS principal Prof. Wasswa Balunywa at his home in Kasolo village Iganga district. He was welcomed by Prof. Wasswa Balunywa and Busoga Kingdom' Premier Dr. Joseph Muvawala. From there, the Kyabazinga went to Namungalwe saza ground in Kigulu sub county in Iganga District to preside over his 9th Coronation Anniversary. While at Prof. Balunywa's home, the Kyabazinga was engaged in a Photo shoot with the family of Prof. Balunywa, intern doctors from Netherlands and members of Abasoga Nseete among others. He had breakfast with First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of East Africa Community Affairs Rt. Hon. Rebecca Kadaga and other guests. At the ceremony in Namungalwe, Kyabazinga arrived amidst thousands of his subjects who were mostly clad in Gomesi and Kanzus, both traditional attires worn on cultural functions in Busoga. He planted a tree at the saza grounds in company of Busoga Kingdom's culture Minister Richard Mafumo and Other Kingdom Ministers. Later he sounded Royal Drums and was ushered into his Royal tent. Many speakers including Kadaga and Muvawala Among others hailed the Kyabazinga for getting a wife and Queen of Busoga. Kadaga and Muvawala said they are waiting for the King's wedding that will take place on November 18th at Christ Cathedral Bugembe. In her remarks Kadaga re-confirmed to public that Busoga now has a Queen in names of Jovia Mutesi. There is no other person who claims that she is Queen and wife to Kyabazinga. Kadaga also introduced Busoga Tourism Queens led by Miss Tourism Busoga Mercy Tenywa, before the Kyabazinga and guests who were at the ceremony. After the ceremony, Kyabazinga cut a cake he served to his subjects. End
