I had said I would find something that was much older than when the tape was first introduced, and well, here we are. INFO: Original Title - Jumpin' Jupiter Album - ??? Composed by Frank Chacksfield TAPE INFO: The tape was produced in April 1988, likely to replace Jog Trot 2 (Which was ANOTHER Frank Chacksfield-led tape). Jog Trot 2 had been running since 1986, and was istelf a rejig of Jog Trot 1, which had been running since July 1985. This did not last as long as yet another Chacksfield tape which was introduced same year, Lady Beware, which ended plays in 1991. Jumpin' Jupiter, unfortunately, lasted just over a year, and was played for the last time in October 1989, to be replaced with ANOTHER Chacksfield tape, Cuban Boy, which itself lasted until September 1992, to be replaced by Horizons, which now makes the 5TH CHACKSFIELD TAPE IN THE LINEAGE. Alas, Horizons was finally killed off in November 1995, with no replacement, ending the history of Chacksfield tapes on BBC2. As for the actual title track, a lot of stuff is listed as ??? because I can barely find info. Some things say it released in 1955, others in 1952, and that also changes the record label between London Records or Decca Records. It could also be from his days at Starborne Productions, which puts the date of composition in the 70s-early 80s. However, should it be from a London or Decca release, that places a solid 30 YEARS between its release on record and its inclusion on tape. This is, without a doubt, the longest gap there is on any program. I honestly don't know how to follow this up - do I do another Chacksfield, or do I move to something else? This was a last minute idea anyways.
