What is a degree for? A degree diploma does not only guarantee that we are graduates with professional knowledge and skills, but also show that what we have learned is worthy. It is worthy because it is a wisdom that manifests through our lives and work. It is a kind of wisdom that leads to faith, love and hope for everyone in the society. This year, all members of Mahidol university community (staff, instructors, students, alumni, parents and prospective students) and friends of Mahidol from any institutions are invited to volunteer or perform simple acts of kindness toward others, around the Mahidol Day (24 September). Together, we will turn this very auspicious occasion into the first Mahidol Day of Service and make it meaningful for everyone. Here are 4 simple steps: 1. SHOP: Shop for cool ideas suggested by thoughtful friends at www.mahidol.ac.th/dayofservice. 2. SHARE: Share your ideas how to volunteer or make the world a better place. They can be just small acts of kindness toward our loved ones or anyone around us. 3. SERVE: Serve the society in the way that fits you best, on or around 24 September. 4.
