ATV Trail Riding in BC - Day 4 AM Ride - Lake/Cabin Hunting

This is Day 5 at Moyie, and Day 4 of riding. This was our morning ride. I had no phone/GPS this morning because I had dropped it in the creek the night before while vigorously shaking the 10 lbs of trail dust out of my pants. Luckily, it landed perfectly on the rocks, popping off the back & spewing out the battery. It was submerged in elbow deep water, but never got damaged (with the exception of a few tiny light spots on my screen which are barely noticeable). Our mission for the day was to look for Cooper Lake & any trapper cabins we happened across along the way. Problem was, we had no idea which road would take us there. I could see the lake on my Phone/GPS topo map, but there were no trails/roads leading to it on my map. Why we never thought of using Lloyd's phone to check out Google Earth is beyond me. I'll just chalk it up to old-guy-ism. We started off heading in the right direction, but quickly got sidetracked by all the excellent opportunities posed by the many side trails leading off the main road. Our A.D.D. was kicking in hard at this point; or was it the old-guy-ism? Not sure. Oh well, that's how it goes when you're trail riding . . . you just kinda' explore.
