BACCO CAL2 - CANE CORSO Italian working aptitude test

CAL 2 is an official Italian cane corso working aptitude test. This test is a requirement to obtain Italian CH and this must be judged only by an Italian ENCI approved judge. n 1996, the Italian Kennel Club (ENCI) accepted the proposal of the Breed Club (SACC) to make passing the CAL 1 test a requirement for homologation of the title of 'Italian Champion'. Purpose: to test the presence of the typical natural characteristics that the breed should possess. In 2006, CAL 1 was replaced by the CAL 2 test. The difference between the two is that during the CAL 2 test there is contact between dog and decoy. Dogs that pass this test can be entered in the working dog class at shows in Italy, where a separate CAC is awarded to the dog placed first with the qualification 'excellent'. This test is rarely can be found in USA due to those requirements. In 2023 CAL2 test was done at Cane Corso IGP Nationals in NY, hosted by North East Working Cane Corso Group and the whole event was judges by an Italian judge. Several different organizations in USA tried to run this test previously and it is created issues with Italians.
