Hello Guys! In this video, I was trying to explain to you how I got my Geological Engineering degree and how I used that to go in the Oil and Gas Industry. And I was trying to explain to you as good as I could how is the life of a Field Engineer for a Mudlogging company (called sometime Wellsite Geologist in the USA) in the Oil and Gas industry and what to expect. Sorry for the quality, but I filmed this in the mudlogging unit. Perhaps this is gonna give you some more understanding about what to expect from a field job and is gonna be relevant for the video Subject. At the beginning of the video I explained to you a little bit about Geology, what is geology studying and what can you do with a Geology Degree. After that, I got in some details about How is the Mudlogging job, what skills you need for this job and what to expect. In the second part of the video, I tried to explain to you better how is your lifestyle gonna change If you chose to go for this career and what are the disadvantages and advantages of an Oilfield worker's life. Advantages: For me, the schedule is really nice, having to work for 3/4 weeks and after I have a lot of free time when I can travel and relax, and do whatever I want. Travel a lot with the job. You have the chance to visit countries and cities you may never visit otherwise. It's a good way to use your Geological Skills and learn a lot of things after you graduate. Disadvantages: The Oil and gas industry very cyclic and there are a lot of downturn periods when you can lose your job because of the low oil price. As we are facing right now. Sometime the job could be rough and you may need to work a lot of hours and sometimes not getting enough sleep because you stayed all night awake to do some troubleshooting or something like that. You work 12h a day 7/7. (But this is also an advantage because you can make a lot of money in a short period of time and after that, you can have a lot of free time). Sometime the job could be really dirty and if you don't like that, maybe is not the job for you. Finally, working as a Field Engineer for a Mudlogging company is a great starting point to apply your Geology knowledge and to understand better all the Oilfield Operations. If you are an active person that likes to go out there and make things work, you should definitely give it a try if you have this opportunity. I hope you enjoyed the video. Let me know what is your opinion about Oilfield Life. See you next time! Be Great. Don't forget to Subscribe for more videos.!
