Main Rules: -Start with 1 Lumina usage per character, no exceptions: this means that even Painted Power must be used as a Pictos or all 5 Lumina points per character are needed for its usage to exceed the 9,999 damage cap -Only gain +1 Lumina usage per boss level enemy defeated -"Tutorial" bosses and Solo Character Fights do not add to the +1 Lumina point count Other Challenges: -99,999 damage limit until act 3 -No level 33 weapons until Act 3 -No manual weapon upgrades at the Curator or Expedition Flags in Act 3 -No use of weapons manually upgraded; only until they're earned -No battle items -No Shields -No Cheater or Faster Than Strong Pictos or Lumina use -No use of recoats -At least 1 change of party character after every boss -Gustave used in all fights for Act 1 -All 10 possible party compositions are used in some rotation in Acts 2 and 3 Other things to know about the playthrough: -This only features bosses, so no normal encounters or exploration are featured -This is a save file I stored after basically maxing out a first playthrough BEFORE the "Thank You" update, all characters are at level 99, all Pictos collected, unlocked their Lumina usage, all weapons collected, all bosses defeated. No "Thank You" update Pictos or weapons are used. -I started this playthrough months ago as an "on and off" playthrough. -I manually upgraded only 2 weapons to 33 in that first playthrough, Chevalam for Gustave/Verso and Medalum for Maelle, both weapons aren't used in this playthrough since they were manually upgraded and haven't been earned so far through this playthrough. -If you're not familiar with CO: E33's new game plus mode, most of the Pictos and Weapons earned in this mode are upgraded versions of what you earn in a first playthrough meaning weapons and Pictos have higher levels with better stats. You also tend to earn better item drops that help for better weapon upgrades. -Another important thing about new game plus is that when Verso joins the party, he has no stats allocated, so I did readjust his stats to better suit other weapons since I'm essentially locked out from using Chevalam for so much of the game. -This is basically a second 100% playthrough as I try to recollect all items and equipment since they tend to be upgraded. -A lot of these fights are NOT optimized, since bosses have higher health, because of my weapon restrictions, and the constant switches in party composition most of the Pictos and Lumina set ups aren't meant to be changed out often. Character Outfit Themes for Part 4: "Axon, Axoff" to "That's the Name of the Game!" to "How Many Outfits are Left Anyway?" to "And That's the End of That Chapter" Why Chono Cross: Chrono Cross is one of my favorite turn-based RPGs and still has one of the most unique combat and level-up systems that I can think of. Its combat utilizes a stamina system and a mostly customizable elemental grid system that comprises of a character's ability usage. It's level up system, which this playthrough is inspired by, consists of Star Levels that consist of a good number of stat gains only after boss level enemies are defeated. While CC doesn't have a skill system like Luminas, CC's Level up system seemed like a good fit for a second Expedition 33 playthrough that I was already planning since Lumina point use is a part of character growth and feels more impactful than the 3 stat points gained per level in Expedition 33. I had already decided to impose a challenge on myself similar to my "All Chromatic Nevrons No Damage" challenge with many of the same restrictions so this Chrono Cross inspired twist just made sense. There are a lot of other things that make Chrono Cross one of my favorite games, but I won't go into more detail for now.
