Bag of Dungeon: Spirit Harvester As you took your last gulp on the watery swill they try to pass off as mead, you started to slowly rise from the corner table in the back of a surprisingly empty tavern. Wasted Wizard, indeed. A day lost on a detour to visit a rather unremarkable town based on rumors of some magic ring. The bar keep was happy to ramble on about the dungeon that held a ring so great that a mighty red dragon was drawn to guard it. But it seemed to be more about keeping you drinking, than anything else. Since the story seemed to loop with the details changing each time. Leaving, you were greeted by darkness. Soon your eyes adjusted to see the dim street lanterns trailing off sporadically down the streets. As the shops ahead of you fade in, you noticed a small figure waving you over. Curious you obliged. “I have a proposition for you, adventurer!” a small severely withered, what you assumed was a human, man creaked excitedly. He paused for a moment, stared expectantly at you and eventually continued, “I enchant magic items and running low on spirits. You look like you someone who can get me some... for a price of course, a fair amount of gold pieces for each depending on the spirits strength. Which you can use to but one of my wares at a very very good discount.” His eyes widened and he smiled as he delivered the last line. You nodded in agreement. “Good, very good” he said digging in his pocket and pulled out a tiny gray stone. “Now bend down and let's see your forehead!” He paused again for a moment, then continued obviously annoyed “ You don't expect to put the spirits in your satchel and bring them back to me do you?” Again you agreed and lowered your head down. He raised the stoned up and pressed it into your forehead with his thumb. But you didn't feel a thing. “There, whenever you dispatch a creature it's spirit will be channeled by Sol Arghgz... ah never mind you don't care. They will be sucked into the stone. But as time passes it loses power and they can get loose, and will attack. This stone will let you hurt them, but they can't hurt you. You have a few tries to beat them back in before they realize what's going on and escape. Unfortunately, if they do, you'll feel it. One other thing if you find yourself near death, you can will the stone to use half the spirits to heal a bit of your wounds. But it only works once. No point in spending them all...” His voice trailed off in the end as he turned, you thought you heard “Half is better than nothing” as he started walking down the cobbled road out of town, mumbling to himself. You followed. The old man stopped a far bit after the town limits. There were no more lanterns, but the silhouette of landscape was painted in a soft blue glow. He pointed to a hill not that far off, “There, the entrance is in that bluff. You will need Ring of Vision to see the exit and the Dragon it will only appear after you have searched the dungeon.” Please see the Bag of Dungeon variant forum on Board Game Geek for full set of rules.
