Cedars restaurant on Brooklyn Avenue in the University District of Seattle serves delicious Mediterranean and Indian dishes every day of the week. It first opened as a Lebanese deli in 1975, and has been owned and operated by the same family for 40 years. In this interview, Sadia Khan (owner) shares about the history of the restaurant and the relationships that make it special. This video was produced, filmed, and edited by a 2024-25 MOHAI Youth Advisors (MYA) project team that included Shaheer, Josie, and Miku. MYA make the museum more welcoming for their peers by finding fun and creative ways to connect teens with MOHAI, and providing input on the development of museum programming and exhibits. Learn more about MYA at mohai.org/mya. Many thanks to Shabeer Ahmed Afridi and Sadia Khan for sharing Cedars with us!
