The Paris Agreement was an agreement within the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), dealing with greenhouse-gas-emissions mitigation. It is a legally binding international treaty on climate change. It was adopted by 196 countries at Conference of the Parties COP 21 in Paris in December 2015. Katowice Rulebook The Katowice package adopted at the UN climate conference (COP24) in December 2018 contains common and detailed rules, procedures and guidelines that operationalise the Paris Agreement.
