Lt. Col. Bob Goebel was a double Ace in WWII flying a P-51 Mustang. His Mustang was named "The Flying Dutchman" and he wrote a very interesting book about his experience's entitled "Mustang Ace". This book is a must read for any aviation enthusiast. A P-51 Mustang that was restored to resemble Bob Goebel's Flying Dutchman was formerly owned by the Beaumont Hotel in Beaumont, KS. The Beaumont Hotel in Beaumont, KS has a grass strip where pilots can land and they can literally taxi right up to the hotel for breakfast, lunch, or a pilot can get a room for an overnight stay if needed!!!!! The hotel is decorated with a lot of aviation history and this short video is a tribute to a man that we considered a friend and were proud to know.
