In our interview, I captured Simon's fantasy cultural year from the answers to 10 easy questions. Furrah Syed, an artist and educator, and Simon Alexander Ong, a coach and former banker, discussed the creation of "Simon's Fantasy Cultural Year." The interview highlighted their personal stories and passions. Furrah shared her mission to make art accessible, including for the blind, and her expertise in colour energy healing. Simon recounted his transition from a banking career to coaching, emphasising his passion for empowering others through wisdom, art, and colour energy. Colour Auras and Emotional Connections Furrah explained the impact of colour auras on daily life and the role of bioplasmic energy in healing, connecting thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations. Simon discussed the universal language of energy and how colours relate to emotions. They both shared how music positively affects energy and emotions. Simon also highlighted the importance of emotional connections in branding and the role of communication skills in influencing emotions. Book Launch and Colour Energy Art The launch of Simon’s book "Energize" was discussed, attended by 350 people and available on major retail sites. Furrah demonstrated a technique for experiencing colour energies through touch, used in her workshops for the blind and partially sighted. They reviewed an art piece inspired by Simon’s colour energy. Simon signed a book for Furrah’s daughter, and they expressed mutual admiration for each other’s work. Cultural Values and Preferences Simon shared his cultural values and preferences, noting his home as his favourite building and "The Third Door" by Alex Beniin as his book of choice. He enjoys a specially crafted cocktail from the Connaught Hotel but would likely choose a latte. He also mentioned a recent meeting with publishers for a new book. Japan Arts Immersion Journey Simon expressed interest in immersing himself in Japan’s arts and culture for a new book, appreciating the influence of Eastern philosophies on Western living. He chose classical music for its emotional and inspirational qualities for a year-long listening experience. Fantasy Cultural Tour of Japan A fantasy cultural tour of Japan was discussed, including a limo ride to Tokyo, a dance performance, and dinner at a sushi restaurant. Simon showed interest in a traditional Kabuki performance and playing football. They also discussed visiting a digital art gallery in Kyoto, focusing on Salvador Dali’s work. Evening Entertainment and Lunch Simon chose to attend the musical Frozen, with a surprise reunion with his daughter. The next day included a hero day and lunch with notable guests chosen by Simon and Furrah. They shared their favourite musicians, with Simon preferring Taylor Swift and Furrah classical music.
