Song dedicated to HH Sathguru Sri Niranjanananda Giri Swamigal

A thirteen year old boy first heard HH Sathguru Sri Haridhos Giri Swamigal (Guruji) singing bhajans and like most of us, was taken under His spell. He went further than most of us though and left home, a promising future and all the comforts of a sheltered family life to dedicate His entire life to serving Guruji. He forsake creature comforts, food and even basic necessities at times in His quest to serve His Guru, unfailingly standing true to His Guru even when Guruji performed His leela and attained jala samadhi. Then followed seventeen years of complete devotion and dedication in serving not just Guruji but HH Sathguru Sri Namananda Giri Swamigal (Namaji), the chief disciple of Guruji. His only thought, through all the ensuing trials, tribulations and sometimes intense hardships of doing Guru Seva, was to attain the most precious of all treasures, HH Jagathguru Sri Gnanananda Giri Swamigal. Seventeen years later, when, following the samadhi of Namaji, He was offered the Pontiff role, He refused. Only when given permission directly by Sathgurunathar and Guruji, He then agreed to be ordained a Saint and at Their compulsion, became the third Peetathipathi of Sri Gnanananda Giri Peetam. Seven years have since passed. His quest for attaining only Sathgurunathar has already been fulfilled in that the Sathguru cannot be taken away from His disciple and vice versa. He embraced an ascetic's life like duck to water, all His years of training at not one but two Gurus' feet giving Him all the preparation He needed. As Peetathipathi, despite the continuing trials and obstacles, accomplishments and achievements, He continues to remain true to bringing to fruition the mission and vision that His Gurus tasked Him with and unwaveringly obeys the commands of Sathgurunathar in all that He says and does. His Holiness stands tall as the one hope of shining beacon, who truly represents the real values of true devotion, selfless Guru seva and complete surrender to the Guru that every single one of the saints in this lineage, and the lineage they descend from, starting with no less a person than Sri Adi Shankaracharya Himself, to all the true devotees of this great Guru Parampara (lineage). A beacon shines, no matter where it is. The sun shines and its rays bring light and warmth, even when rain/storm clouds temporarily cover it. So does, a Guru. This song is a dedication to HH Sathguru Sri Niranjanananda Giri Swamigal's lotus feet as an expression of our eternal devotion and gratitude.
