This day typically comes around on Sundays, but due to the snow (and playing outside), I pushed it back to Tuesday to give us some time to enjoy the weather! I think it’s so important to have reset days to get your brain and physical space back in order at least once a week! The first thing I do on a reset day is clean and organize my OFFICE followed by watering all my plants. I spend a majority of my time in this room doing work, so having a space that is clean and decluttered is essential when it comes to my productivity for the rest of the week! I also have a couch and assembled lights for filming that I need to keep straightened up and in their proper place. Our entryway gets the most light so that is where a majority of our plants reside. I like to water those plants on these reset days and make sure that they are all looking good! We also have these incredible shelves where I keep a few other plants, so I need to remember to water and clean that area, as well. The next section I go to is my famous plant wall! We have a few plants propagating on the wall and below that, we keep our Rise Garden. In the Rise, we have 2 eggplants, 2 cucumbers, and 2 pea plants. I like to take a look at the garden to see what’s growing and make sure everything looks good! To properly care for the garden, I have to take handheld readings every week to measure the EC, PH, and temperature. If there is anything that the garden needs, I will add it in before topping it off with water and letting it grow for another week! For the propagation wall, I top off all the vases with water. This is such a therapeutic process for me and I usually have a podcast or some music on in the background to entertain myself while I get all my work done! Michael and I typically keep the kitchen pretty clean each night, but on reset day I like to take the cleaning a step further. I start by putting on my kitchen gloves and tackling all the leftover dishes. Once all the dishes are washed and dried, I can wipe down the countertops. Pro tip: to clean my Vitamix, I put some water and soap in it before putting it back on the blender base and running it for a little while before rinsing it out! Did you know that a Vitamix has a “clean” setting? I also love to take the top bars off the stove and clean underneath them - it really is a life-changing feeling when your stove is clean! I then clean behind the sink and water my kitchen garden before moving on! Next, I head into our bedroom to make the bed! On a typical reset day, I will strip the bed and do a big load of laundry, but I had already done that over the weekend, so in this video, I just made the bed. I then go into the closet and go through my clothes for donation. I like to clean my closet out pretty often. Next, I clean my bathroom toilet, shower, and drawers. You just need to sit and consolidate things every now and then to curb junk buildup in your drawers. Today I decided to replace the head on my toothbrush and clean my makeup brushes - although I don’t do that every week!
