Hearing of judge Constantin Damaschin, Acting President of the Chișinău Court

Judge Constantin Damaschin, Acting President of the Chișinău Court, was heard by the Judicial Vetting Commission as part of the external evaluation process provided for under Law no. 252/2023 on the evaluation of judges and prosecutors. The hearing was conducted by Panel D, composed of Scott Bales, Lilian Enciu, and Iurie Gațcan. The panel members’ questions focused mainly on cases handled by the judge that resulted in findings of violations of the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR). Following the hearing, the Panel will approve a report containing the relevant facts, the reasoning, and a recommendation regarding the promotion or non-promotion of the evaluation of the subject.
