It’s common to hear that the love of money is the root of all evil. It’s a commonly quoted verse that comes from 1 Timothy 6:10. The problem is we often misquote this verse. We like to say “money is the root of all evil.” But that leaves out three very important words that change the meaning of this verse; Paul actually says: “the love of money is a root of all evil.” That’s quite the difference. While we regularly misquote this verse, is it still very applicable for us today. Paul’s warning is very serious and one that we shouldn’t ignore. The love of money has cost people dearly. The full verse says: “For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.” 1 Timothy 6:10 In this video I want to break down 1 Timothy 6:10 and see how it applies to our life.
