It's Tiki-Ti night at the Desert Oasis Room so on this episode we make a Puka Punch cocktail! The Puka Punch was invented by the founder of the Tiki-Ti, Ray Buhen, one of the original Four Filipinos (bartender mixologists) at Donn's Beachcomber aka Don the Beachcomber. Ray was a tiki bar and rum cocktail pioneer having also worked at The Luau, The Seven Seas, The China Trader, Palms in the Jungle and many more iconic Polynesian palaces of days long past. In this video, we are given a tutorial on how to make this iconic cocktail by Ray's very own grandson, Mike Buhen Jr! Puka Punch 2 oz Light Rum 1 oz Dark Rum (Coruba) 1/2 oz Overproof Rum (LH 151) 1 oz Orange Juice 1 oz Pineapple Juice 1/2 oz Lime Juice 3/4 oz Passion Fruit Syrup 1/4 oz Falernum 1/2 oz Honey Syrup 1/2 oz Simple Syrup 1-2 dashes Aromatic Bitters (Angostura) Combine all ingredients in a cocktail tin. Flash blend for a few seconds and dirty dump into a large snifter glass. Garnish with a pineapple wedge and cherry.
