What to choose straight or angulated multi units? How to know where the screw channels will be? Visit Uniqa Dental site https://bit.ly/3w0CUgy Today, we’ll talk about making an immediate restoration on immediate implantation in cases when you have a lot of multi-units. We’ll also discuss when and how to choose between straight and angulated multi-units and how to know where the future screw channels will be. In our case, we have different types of multi-units. We have two angulated multi-units, some straight multi-units, and some dental implants. We prefer to put healing caps and not restore those multi-units. So, after we place the implants, we preferably would like to place an angulated or straight multi-unit. If you place in straight multi-units, you know, right away where the screw channel will be, because this screw channel will be on the same axis of the implant and right above the implant. When you are placed in an angulated multi-unit, in many cases, you can’t see right away where the screw channel will be. It's hard to know exactly where the screw channel will be. So, for angulated multi-units, we have a type of handle that helps us position the multi-unit on top of the implant. With that handle, we can also see where the future axis will be. The next step would be taking impressions. On top of all the multi-unit, we place scan abutments. We used different types of multi-units: V-type for the straight multi-units and D-type for the angulated ones. We took impressions on top of all the multi-unit and with these impressions, we made a temporary restoration. It was made the next day and screwed to the multi-units. You don't have to use implant-level scan abutments. We talked about this in the previous CAD CAM topic. You can use an implant-level scan abutment if you're not sure, but in cases where you are sure what type of multi-unit you have, you can use the multi-unit inserted in the implant and take impressions straight on the multi-unit. When you can see the picture with this handle, you can see where approximately the screw channel will be. You make all the processes much simpler. You don't have to use implant-level scan abutments. In this case, the doctor saw the angulation with the handle and because he saw the angulation, he knew what type of multi-unit to use. The result is good, all the screw channels go out to the occlusal area. 00:00 It's hard to know exactly where the screw channel will be. 00:29 Making an immediate restoration on immediate implementation 02:45 What is the next step? 03:33 At least one implant level scan abutment 04:00 The screw channel will still come out vocally 05:00 You can change this multi-unit impressions with an angular multi-unit. 06:03 Immediate loading on multi-units. #dentistry #abutment #dental_materials 🔗 Visit Uniqa Dental site https://uniqa.dental/?utm_source=youtube . ‼️ Disclaimer: Any medical or scientific information provided in connection with the content presented here makes no claim to completeness and the topicality, accuracy and balance of such information provided is not guaranteed.
