If you like hiking and exploring new places, this video is for you! I think New Mexico is one of the most underrated states in the USA, and part of the reason I think it's an unexpected gem is the stunning landscapes and outdoor recreation you can do here. Today I'll share with you a vlog and some views from my hike up to Nambe Lake as well as Deception and Lake Peaks. All of these can be accessed from the Santa Fe Ski Basin, which is about a 30 mins drive outside of the city of Santa Fe. Because this is the southernmost portion of the Rocky Mountains (called the Sangre de Cristo Mountains), you can find peaks over 12000 ft (3647 meters) here! In fact the highest point in the state, Wheeler Peak, is over 13167ft (4013 meters). In my opinion, the climb is worth the views, but I'll let you watch this and decide for yourselves.
