As the name implies, aqua/ water yoga involves practicing yoga in the water. In most cases, aqua yoga is done in an indoor or outdoor swimming pool, other bodies of water, such as a hot tub or spa, lake, pond, or ocean. The preferred temperature for such workouts should be somewhere between 84-89 F. I recommend water level: waist- chest; it may be deeper for floating exercises. Aqua yoga can include numerous aspects of yoga practice, such as asanas (poses), (yoga breath work) as well as meditation. I also frequently mix Water yoga with Pilates exercises and offer yoga lates in the pool workout.
