After a severe infection early in life, Kate Ketelhohn’s legs weren't able to grow properly. Multiple surgeons in Wisconsin told Kate's family that the only option was amputation. Then they searched for a new medical home and found it at Gillette Children’s. While other doctors looked at Kate and saw insurmountable challenges, Mark Dahl, MD and the team at Gillette saw possibilities. They saved Kate’s legs and now she’s 18 years old, a freshman at Johns Hopkins University and hopes to become a doctor one day.
