Fujifilm's Dr. Carole Noutary explains the science behind Uvijet inks and Micro-V dispersion technology. With particle sizes smaller than the width of a human hair there's a lot of science that goes into making a UV curing ink reliable. The biggest challenge is pigment dispersion. At Fujifilm we have developed two critical technologies to achieve an acceptable level of dispersion. 1. Unique chemistry and materials have been designed by Fujifilm to facilitate the breakdown of pigment articles to a suitable size. 2. Fujifilm developed a process using very hard and small ceramic beads to break down the pigment particles, that are smaller than a single human hair.
