"You Won't Dance With Me" was released on April Wine's sixth studio album, Forever for Now, in January 1977. This song has special memories for me and I've wanted to get around to it for a long time. "You Won't Dance With Me" is a very touching and beautiful ballad...way overlooked, by an equally overlooked (nowadays at least) rock band. I bought my first April Wine record (The Whole World's Goin' Crazy) the year before this one was released, and I never stopped listening to this band....the only other video I've done for a song by the band was actually from their last studio release 2006's Roughly Speaking for a song I really love called "Sheila"    • Sheila - April Wine (2006) FLAC 1080p   I really gotta get around to doing move vids for some of the many great gems in April Wine's catalog....so many great songs this band has produced! The album featured a variety of genres including country and western, Latin, Caribbean, blues, easy listening, and rock. Initially, the album sold moderately, peaking at #19 on the Canadian charts in March before dropping back down. Then the 1950s-style ballad "You Won't Dance with Me" became a surprise hit single, selling more copies than any previous April Wine single and breathing new life into the album's sales. The single and album peaked on their corresponding charts during the same week of July 9, 1977, at #6 and #5, respectively. Both the single and the album were certified platinum in Canada.
