My honest NO Hype thoughts on the New Chanel Denim collection & Chanel No. 5 Reformulated 💔

Chanel Denim makeup collection is now available worldwide and I had to go in store to test it! The new Chanel spring collection features two limited edition eyeshadows in Denim Dream and Coco Jean. They also created a new highlighter in illuminating powder in COCO DENIM. All pieces come in a limited edition sleeve to tempt collectors :) Regarding the Chanel No 5 edt 2026 Reformulation: There have been changes affecting Chanel No 5 in the past decade even if the house doesn’t loudly advertise them. Most of these changes come from industry-wide regulatory pressure, not random redesigns. Chanel have always tried to keep the identity of Chanel No 5 and in my opinion they have succeeded. It’s still the iconic aldehyde abstract “floral” scent that doesn’t really smell like flowers. In 2023 the International Fragrance Association (IFRA) released their 51st Amendment, which tightened restrictions on many fragrance raw materials (allergenic or sensitizing compounds). Perfume houses like Chanel had until october 2025 to bring existing products into compliance. Probably that’s why now Chanel are reintroducing the new edition of Chanel No 5 edt. It’s not a major change but the brand now accentuated different notes in the new edition. Until now Chanel No 5 edt was represented as: “Powerful top notes, dominated by Ylang-Ylang and Neroli, are intensified by aldehydes. The alchemy of Vanilla, Vetiver and Sandalwood create a warm and vibrant trail.” Quotes from Chanel.com The new edition of Chanel No 5 edt is described as: “The fragrance opens with a bouquet of rose, jasmine and ylang-ylang, elevated by aldehydes, while sandalwood and vetiver add depth.” Quoted from Chanel.com Clearly Chanel acknowledged a change and now the new notes seem to be closer to the edp version. In the video I share my personal experience with Chanel No 5 edt. This is a very near and dear fragrance for me. Is it still beautiful? YES! Is it reformulated? Change is inevitable for all perfume houses. Perfume industry is constantly evolving and brand work to change formulations in order to make them safer, better and user friendly. ➡️ UPDATE: I didn’t resist.
