Atlist — https://www.atlist.com/?c=video_wix_maps Google My Maps — https://google.com/mymaps Wix is awesome — but its built-in map element is very limited. The pop-ups can’t be styled, you can’t add images or buttons, and longer descriptions turn into giant awkward boxes. Overall… it’s just a bit meh. So in this video, I’ll show you how to embed fully interactive maps on a Wix website — with way more flexibility and control. What you’ll learn in this video: How to embed custom maps into Wix Add thousands of markers Use clickable modal pop-ups Add search so visitors can find locations near them Customize map styles, markers, and layouts I’ll walk through two map-making tools that work great with Wix: 1️⃣ Google My Maps (Free) Add markers manually or by searching Import markers from a spreadsheet 30 preset marker colors (no custom colors or sizes) Draw polygons and routes (no circles) Limited map styles But Google My Maps has tradeoffs: You’re stuck with Google’s black header bar You can’t remove points of interest Marker clicks open a sidebar you can’t customize 2️⃣ Atlist (Paid) Add markers manually, by search, or via spreadsheet upload Sync markers from Google Sheets Fully customizable markers and modal pop-ups Add images, text, buttons, and custom layouts Draw circles, lines, and polygons (perfect for delivery zones) Custom map styles Powerful overlays like: Search (find nearby markers), Tags (filter markers), Lists (fully customizable marker lists) Plus advanced features like: Custom fonts Password-protected maps Showing a visitor’s current location Restricting maps to a boundary Team collaboration Why isn’t Atlist free? Because embedding Google Maps via the Google Maps API costs money — $0.007 per map view. Google My Maps is free because Google owns it. Atlist has to pay Google, so free embeds aren’t sustainable. Both tools have their place — and in this video, I’ll help you decide which one is right for your project.
