About the presentation: Learn about the collaborative initiative to link data from the Canadian Longitudinal Study on Aging (CLSA) with administrative data at HDRN Canada data centres. Dr. Andrew Costa and Lindsey Gilbert describe the purpose of this initiative, the partners involved, the means by which they are achieving their goals and lessons learned throughout the process. About the speakers: Dr. Andrew Costa is the Canada Research Chair (Tier 2) in Integrated Care for Seniors and a Schlegel Research Chair in Clinical Epidemiology & Aging in the Department of Health Research Methods, Evidence and Impact at McMaster University. He holds a PhD in Aging and Epidemiology from the University of Waterloo. He serves as the Scientific Director of the St. Joseph’s Centre for Integrated Care and is an Associate Scientific Director of the Canadian Longitudinal Study on Aging. He is an interRAI Fellow and member of the Instruments and Systems Development (ISD) Committee. His program of research makes use of health information to target, develop and evaluate models of care in home and community care, emergency departments, hospitals and long-term care. He also leads work on digital platforms that help patients and their caregivers navigate home and community care services. Lindsey Gilbert has been working with HDRN Canada since 2019 as part of her role as Data Services Manager at NB-IRDT. She has led several large projects to facilitate the sharing of data for research, including the CLSA-HDRN Canada data centre collaboration. Before joining NB-IRDT, Lindsey held roles within government and the non-profit sector. She holds a degree in leadership studies from the University of New Brunswick. About HDRN Canada Discussion Sessions: HDRN Canada Discussion Sessions occur monthly and provide a supportive platform for HDRN Canada members to share their knowledge, experience and work.
