I gotta be honest with these HOOD REVIEWS. Dead Presidents is a veterans story. This is the story of Anthony and his friends. In it we see different disturbing factors that drove some Vietnam veterans to crime and desperation after their return home in the 70's from Vietnam. Most of Dead Presidents is inspired from actual events from the book, "Bloods: An Oral History of the Vietnam War by Black Veterans" written by Hayward T Kirkland. The film stars Larenz Tate as Anthony Curtis, Chris Tucker ( Probably in his best role) as his best friends, Rose Jackson is Juanita the love interest of Anthony. Keith David is also in it as Kirby a local O.G.. We can forget about Clifton Powell as Cutty a.k.a "the hand that feeds you". You gotta appreciate a movie like this, it a classic for sure! Released in '95 and directed by the Hughes brothers its a perfect blend of war and crime mixed with what can happens to young people without broader horizons Add me on Social.
