This session offers Scotland’s healthcare innovators ‘lunch and learn’ insights from Public Health Scotland (PHS) with a focus on its comprehensive approach to encouraging public health innovation while underlining the importance of delivery. That will be framed in the context of a new PHS Strategy and broader Scottish Government Population Health Framework which aims to improve Scotland’s health and reduce health inequalities over the next decade, creating a country where everyone thrives. InnoScot Health’s Head of Innovation Commercialisation will kickstart the session before outlining a national project called the Warwick-Edinburgh Mental Wellbeing Scale (WEMWBS) which involved InnoScot Health support and advice. She will then introduce Nicola McCallum, Organisational Lead — Innovation, of PHS, who will detail the national public health body’s ‘Framework for public health innovation’, all followed by a Q&A segment. Following the recent publication of its ‘Framework for public health innovation’, the national agency continues to see the fostering of a progressive thinking culture as a vital driver for achieving those wider aims. The framework has been designed “to help address the complex and evolving challenges in public health across Scotland”. The webinar will be a fantastic opportunity to: Learn about how PHS has arrived at its current point Understand where the organisation’s future ambitions lie in alignment with its innovation framework Discuss innovators’ role in contributing to this important goal for Scotland The accessible, bitesize sessions are hosted on Microsoft Teams, regularly providing a platform for inspiring guest speakers whilst allowing InnoScot Health staff to share their deep knowledge and insights on innovation.
