Jeep Cherokee Idle Air Control Valve (97-01)(XJ Stalling & Rough Idle)

This is a tutorial on how to replace or clean your Idle Air Control Valve on a 97-01 Jeep Cherokee XJ. My Jeep Cherokee was idling rough like it was choking when I started it and then it would stall. My idle needle was also going up and down sporadically. I turned the key but didn’t start it to make sure the fuel pump was working and then checked the fuel rail to make sure there was pressure. After checking those components I moved on to the idle air control valve. The idle air control valve electrically regulates airflow to the engine to ensure smooth idling.
