As a mechanic, here are 3 things I ALWAYS check before someone buys a used SUV: 🔧 Engine Condition — leaks, noises, overheating, worn belts 🛑 Brakes & Safety Systems — pads, rotors, ABS lights, pulling, pulsation 🛻 Undercarriage — rust, frame damage, prior wrecks, fluid leaks Spend $75–$120 on an inspection now or $1,500–$6,000 in repairs later. Most dealerships will allow it — and if they won’t, that’s a sign to walk away. If you’re going to spend your income check, spend it smart.
