Guided Meditation: The Peace That We Are Longing For - Unmani When we are in a silent and peaceful environment it is easy to find peace within. But what if we are in the midst of noise, emotional turmoil, and chaos? Where is the peace then? True Peace is not disturbed by, or dependent on, circumstances. How can we discern the difference between the peace of the surroundings and situation, and the Peace that is our true nature? 'To start by taking a few minutes and to let everything else go. Everything else that we have been doing today, recently, everything that we’ve been involved in, thinking about, feeling . . . and just now bring the attention to this body. . . Just feeling whatever is happening for this body, just the way it is for you in your unique direct experience . . . . . Scanning this body from head to toe . . . just noticing whatever is here . .. Noticing if there are any obvious strong sensations, or emotions, or perhaps there are just some subtle tingly sensations or feelings, whatever is here. Just noticing. No need to do anything with whatever you notice. None of it means anything about you or about your body or about your spiritual status. Just acknowledging that this is what’s here. That’s it! Just out of curiosity . . . out of wonder. Like “oh this is what is here . . O.K” and noticing also thoughts. If thoughts arise with any commentary and just noticing those thoughts in the same way you notice anything else. “O.K that’s interesting” but it does not mean anything more than anything else. We don’t need to go down those pathways in to those thought stories. Just notice thought as if it is another sensation. If you do find your attention going down one of those thought pathways as soon as you notice that you can bring your attention back to a physical sensation. Physical sensations are just presently appearing. They are always a really good anchor back to presence, back to reality, out of dreams, thought dreams, back to what is actually happening right now'.
