Russian occupiers in the hot Pokrovsk direction suffer from frostbite and complain about the lack of provisions. This was reported by Ukrainian platoon commander Stanislav "Osman" Bunyatov, the mayor of Henichesk and the 24th Aidar Separate Assault Battalion. Ukrainian drones are reportedly striking Russian forces operating beyond three kilometers north and west of Selydove, while monitoring and restricting access to all roads in the area. The source indicated that these operations have made troop rotations and resupply missions “impossible” for Russian forces. Russian forces were deploying small groups in an attempt to encircle Ukrainian troops in the sector, Viktor Trehubov, spokesperson for Ukraine's Khortytsia group of forces, said. Ukraine said it retook a mining village near the embattled strategic city of Pokrovsk, which Russia has tried to capture for months, after President Volodymyr Zelensky said his forces had made gains. “A number of counterattacks by Ukrainian forces have had some success,” a spokesman for troops in the area, Viktor Tregubov, said on Ukrainian television. “We can already talk about the liberation of the village of Pishchane.” The announcement came just over a month after Russia said it took Pishchane, around eight kilometers southwest of Pokrovsk. The village is home to a key mine that belongs to Ukraine’s main steelmaker Metinvest.
