Savage VT 11 308 and Model 10: changing from a plastic to a metal floor plate

This is a information video about the difference between a 10 series metal , 11 series metal , and VT 11 plastic bottom plates. Part numbers by rifle type is provided with what should be the metal bottom plate for that gun. The list does not differentiate between side or trigger release models. The 10 series metal fit with no modification because it is a Savage part for the bolt release at the trigger guard. the other plate I assume is for the 11 series with a side bolt release, and needed modification to fit a 10 series VT11, which I show in the video. I did have to shim between the new metal bottom plate and the synthetic stock using two hand cut 0.015" brass sheet metal shims. the brass sheets were purchased from Hobby Lobby. I believe these shims had to make up the difference from a shim used in the original plastic bottom plate that can not be used with the metal plates. . I will provide a second video with the finished rifle. This is a I formation video about the difference be ween a 10 series, 11 serious and VT11 plastic bottom plates. Part numbers are provided. The 10 series fit with no modification be g a Savage part for olt release at the trigger. The other plate I asume is for a 11 series with side bolt release, a d needed modification. I did have to shim between the metal bottom plate and synthetic stock using g 0.015 brass sheets from Hobby Lobby, (2 near the front pillar bolt one VT 11, two shifts on the rear fora Second VT11). This is because of the ship used in the original plastic bottom plate.
