New 3D-printed casts available at Mayo Clinic in Florida are making healing a more hygienic experience. The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation is using a waterproof polymer material that will let cast-wearers bathe, sweat and do a host of other tasks that are much more difficult with a traditional fiberglass cast. ___________________ For the safety of its patients, staff and visitors, Mayo Clinic has strict masking policies in place. Anyone shown without a mask was recorded prior to COVID-19 or recorded in an area not designated for patient care, where social distancing and other safety protocols were followed.
