He got his start as a dancer in 1982 and quickly rose through the ranks with mentorship from icons such as Buck4 and Mr. Freeze. In 1985, he was recruited by Scott La Rock to join Boogie Down Productions alongside Krs One. He's been known as "Alien Ness" since the late 1990s, a nickname given to him by Afrika Bambaataa and Grandmaster T.C. Izlam. He's a multimedia performer with numerous credits in movies and TV, and has also performed in concerts with many famous artists. Alien Ness has taught dance classes in communities all over New York City, and has also conducted highly acclaimed workshops worldwide and was invited to lecture at many universities. He has appeared in movies such as The Last Dragon and Krush Groove His experience and knowledge in the hip-hop culture has earned him a reputation as a respected and sought-after instructor, and he has helped to train many successful competitors and performers. Throughout his career, Alien Ness has not only been recognized for his own dancing and performance skills, but also for his contributions to the community as an instructor and cultural ambassador.
