Taube Inspired Das Ugly Stik R/C flights, A long time back I found and built an old slow flyer kit called the Blue Max, it was a monoplane design with a hollow molded undercambered wing and a pre printed triangular box fuselage with brushed geared motor, would take off backwards in a headwind. WW1 styled. I wanted to revisit that fuse construction but with Taube styled wing and tail surfaces. The 33" fuse is a simple triangular hollow box with no formers, from 6mm, the horizontal stab is part of the fuse top view. The vertical stab is tabbed into the fuse. I angled the rear of the bottom fuse to simulate the lower ventral stab on the Taube. The 41" wing is 9mm with two spars and partial span ailerons inboard of the bird wingtips. Motor is a 2208-12 1800kv motor with apc 6x4 and 800mah 3s pack for 8 minute flights. Rtf weight under 13 oz. Covering is red and black oracal 651. I put some trim to simulate open fuse trusswork which worked well. Flies great, rolls are a tad slow as expected with just the partial span ailerons. Dual servos for ailerons and single elevator servo in the rear driving directly via pushrod. Just barely enough room in the fuse to fit everything😁 Info here: Info here: https://dynasoarrocketry.com/?page_id...
