In this video we install a 150-year-old High Altar, refinished for Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church in Cabot, Arkansas. Spoiler Alert: It all goes smoothly. No drama. Just beauty and loving teamwork. St. Joseph, pray for us. Holy Mother of God, watch over us, your children in Christ. Amen. At Latin Rite Restoration, our mission is to first restore a 150-year-old Catholic high altar for use by our Traditional Latin Mass congregation. We are skilled armatures who were blessed with the ability to do this for our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, to minister to His people, and bring souls into the Kingdom of God. We rented a shop, moved in, and started chemically stripping the pieces in April, 2022, and the rest is ongoing. During this process you will see us fill, sand, fabricate, spray paint, faux finish, gold leaf, and much, much more. When this restoration is complete, we will transition into fabricating matching pieces, like an ambo/lectern and altar rail system from scratch. Check out our video showing the CAD model which we will then translate into reality utilizing a CNC router and the same faux finishing processes we’re using throughout the High Altar complex. And there will be more. We will then create a 10-foot high crucifix for above the high altar complex, refurbish pews, and then move on to beautifying the interior of the church, Lord willing. Whew, that’s going to be a lot of work, and it will take a few years, so come along with us on this journey. Our ultimate goal is to inspire others in the Traditional Latin Mass community to use modern techniques to create beautiful, cost-effective sanctuaries for the worship of our Blessed Lord. What do you know, maybe we’ll go into business providing materials, furniture, rails, and objects for others in the TLM community. We’ll see.
