Time for something a little less walk-throughy. This is Evil Zone, or Eretzvaju in Japan, a slightly obscure fighting game for the PS1. It's got a couple of interesting features, the most interesting is a story mode. Each character in the game is based on some sort of anime staple, and each story mode is played out as a "new series" starring the character, each story mode a different genre. In addition, there's an overall story in the world that is VERY detailed, and an in-game encyclopedia to explain it all. I'll be going through everyone story mode, but that's pretty much it. The game itself is...well, it's fun. The fighting system is very simple, only 2 buttons (attack and block), special attacks are done the same way as they are in Smash Bros (direction+attack), and you can double-tap the attack button to change the moves slightly (so they nail sidesteppers, for example) or mix things up in a lot of ways. The fighting leans towards the cinematic side, and some attacks (particularly throws and finishers) are awesomely over the top. The music in the game is FANTASTIC as well. Unfortunately, saying the localized voice acting was "botched" is a severe understatement, and there's a lot of weirdness with the polygons sticking through places they shouldn't. Overall, it's a fun and interesting game, and I'm glad to share it.
