(22 Nov 1977) Hundreds of people demonstrated at the entrances of Kennedy Airport, New York On Tuesday (22 November) in a low-key protest against the start of commercial concorde supersonic transport flights into New York. The protesters were orderly and police said the only incident occured at one entrance where pickets tried without success to block trucks making deliveries to the airport. There were no arrests but while die-hard opponents of Concorde protested, New York city's business community planned a big welcome for the incoming flights.
