WAFF 48 First Alert Weather Day through Midnight. A Wind Advisory will continue through Wednesday afternoon for strong gusty winds 30-40 mph. In addition to the gusty winds we have had all day we expect to see an increase in windspeed as a line of scattered showers and thunderstorms gets closer later this evening. Within this line we could see isolated damaging straight line winds in excess of 60 mph. We are forecasting more power outages and possible downed trees between 6pm and 12am. The wind will die down behind the storms by Midnight and the sky will clear. Behind the rain we will see a big drop in the gusty winds and they will be closer to 20 mph. Wind gusts will increase again after sunrise Wednesday morning as the cold front sweeps across the area. Clouds will also return and temperatures will struggle all day to stay in the lower 50s. Wind gusts around 30 mph will be possible through 3pm. Quiet weather for the rest for the rest of the week with highs in the lower 60s Friday. Rain chance return late Saturday.
