During the Great Walk season all Great Walk huts have a resident hut warden (or two) to act as temporary guardians of our backcountry huts and their surroundings, check people's bookings and provide information to trampers and hikers to keep them safe on trail. But often, what goes on behind closed doors is a complete mystery to us (with doors remaining shut for privacy and security reasons) and once we've left the hut for the day we never get to see the work that goes in behind the scenes.
