The History of Magic the Gathering's Tokens | OS MTG | 304

In this episode of Timmy Talks, I am diving into the history of Magic the Gathering's first tokens. With the realise of Fallen Empires in November 1994, the MTG community started to look for ways to represent special counters and token creatures on the battlefield. However, it wasn't until March of 1995 that Wizards of the Coast added cardboard punch out token cards in Duelist #4. Shortly after this release a small company entitled Citadel Gaming came with their own commercial tokens that vendors could sell at their store. In total they would end up releasing three print runs and hundred of thousands of tokens were sold before the company went bankrupt. Curious? In this movie I take a closer look at these stunning Citadel Gaming Tokens.
