You may see this and think of a sweet loved one, friend, or neighbor that had a bad experience or a horror story from a hospital or nursing home. Supposed “caregivers” not feeding them properly, stealing their much-needed medications, not helping them with hygiene, or maybe what you consider to be the worst, bruises from these same “caregivers” putting their hands on them. These are all real and accurate signs and known forms of abuse when it comes to our aging community. The sneakiest form of Elder Abuse is the financial attacks they endure quietly and so often without notice!!! BE AWARE that our aging community is being forced into signing Power of Attorneys against their will and without proper knowledge of what they are actually signing, being placed under guardianships that are NOT regulated by any organization, and being DRAINED OF ALL OF THEIR ASSETS AND MONEY.
