Vlog 1 | Travel Vlog | Exploring beautiful Arunachal Pradesh We commenced our journey at precisely 3:30 p.m. from Bhairabkunda — the tri-junction where Bhutan, Arunachal Pradesh, and Assam converge — a scenic outpost nestled in Assam’s Udalguri district, some three hours’ drive from Guwahati. Our initial plan was to refuel in Bhutan, where petrol is a modest ₹65 per litre; however, fate had other designs, and the gas station stood empty. With the necessary Inner Line Permits secured at Balemu Check Gate — ₹150 per person — we pressed onward via Kalaktang toward Shergaon pausing there for dinner at 8:10 p.m. The road thereafter carried us through the cool night air, winding past Bomdila and Rupa, until we reached our destination, Dirang, at 10:50 p.m. Our lodging, a homely retreat called Dzong Homestay, had been booked online for just ₹1,500 — a three double-bedded room, perfectly sufficient for five travellers, complete with an attached bath and kitchen. The proprietor’s warmth and friendliness made the place feel less like a booking and more like a welcome. The following morning, after a simple breakfast at 7:30 a.m., we visited a serene monastery tucked close to Dirang. Its quiet beauty lingered in our hearts as we set out for the enchanting Sangti Valley. Here, we surrendered ourselves to its tranquillity — the whisper of the wind, the embrace of the hills — and even braved the icy waters of the Sangti River. When the valley had gifted us all its calm and joy, we turned back toward Shergaon. A simple lunch along the way fortified us for our final wanderings — an unhurried afternoon spent amidst the quiet charm of Shergaon’s apple orchards, the crisp scent of ripening fruit marking a gentle close to our travels.
