The station has been in operation since December 19, 2025. The Prague City Transport Company (DPP) and the contractors, a consortium of companies led by Subterra, managed to put the modernized station into trial operation 17 days earlier than planned. Passengers can now also use the first part of the underpass under Na Pankráci Street, which directly connects the station vestibule with the tram stop platforms. Due to the early opening of the station, finishing work will still be underway in some places, only in local areas and without a major impact on traffic. It will be completed in January 2026. The Pankrác station is located on the oldest section of the Prague metro, which was put into operation on May 9, 1974. Since then, the station has not undergone any extensive reconstruction. As part of this investment project, the station was completely stripped, the contractors repaired leaks, replaced all electrical installations, cable distribution, air conditioning, suspended ceilings, wall and column cladding on the platform and in the vestibule. The toilets and business units in the vestibule, heating and sewage in the non-public service areas of the station were also reconstructed. The modernization also included the replacement of the original waterproofing layers on the outside of the ceiling and part of the walls of the station. Dopravnímu podniku hlavního města Prahy (DPP) a zhotovitelům, sdružení firem vedeném společností Subterra se podařilo zmodernizovanou stanici uvést do zkušebního provozu o 17 dnů dříve oproti plánovanému harmonogramu. Nově mohou cestující využívat také první část podchodu pod ulicí Na Pankráci, který přímo spojuje vestibul stanice s nástupišti tramvajových zastávek. Vzhledem ke zprovoznění stanice v předtermínu budou na některých místech ještě probíhat dokončovací práce, pouze v lokálních záborech a bez zásadního dopadu na provoz. Dokončeny budou v průběhu ledna 2026. Stanice Pankrác se nachází na nejstarším úseku pražského metra, který byl uveden do provozu 9. května 1974. Od té doby stanice neprošla žádnou rozsáhlou rekonstrukcí. V rámci této investiční akce byla stanice kompletně odstrojena, zhotovitelé v ní provedli sanaci průsaků, vyměnili veškerou elektroinstalaci, kabelové rozvody, vzduchotechniku, podhledy, obklady stěn a sloupů na nástupišti i ve vestibulu. Rekonstrukcí prošly také toalety a obchodní jednotky ve vestibulu, vytápění a kanalizace v neveřejných služebních prostorech stanice. Součástí modernizace byla také výměna původních hydroizolačních vrstev na vnější straně stropu a části stěn stanice. Fahrgäste können nun auch den ersten Teil der Unterführung unter der Straße Na Pankráci nutzen, die den Bahnhofsvorraum direkt mit den Straßenbahnhaltestellen verbindet. Aufgrund der vorzeitigen Eröffnung dauern die Restarbeiten an einigen Stellen noch an, jedoch nur in lokalen Bereichen und ohne größere Auswirkungen auf den Verkehr. Die Fertigstellung ist für Januar 2026 geplant. Die Station Pankrác befindet sich im ältesten Abschnitt der Prager Metro, der am 9. Mai 1974 in Betrieb genommen wurde. Seitdem wurde die Station nicht umfassend saniert. Im Rahmen dieses Investitionsprojekts wurde der Bahnhof komplett entkernt. Die beauftragten Firmen reparierten Lecks, erneuerten sämtliche Elektroinstallationen, die Kabelverteilung, die Klimaanlage, die abgehängten Decken sowie die Wand- und Säulenverkleidungen auf dem Bahnsteig und im Vorraum. Auch die Toiletten und Geschäftsräume im Vorraum sowie die Heizungs- und Abwasseranlagen in den nicht-öffentlichen Bereichen des Bahnhofs wurden modernisiert. Die Modernisierung umfasste zudem den Austausch der ursprünglichen Abdichtungsschichten an der Außenseite der Decke und an Teilen der Bahnhofswände.
