The kids have been begging for years to get these four wheelers running. Dan has continued to tell them that when they are ready to put in the work, he will work WITH them. He spent 20 plus years studying this disease and we were fortunate to find him and be treated by him before he retired. Here is a video to start with    • Adhesive Arachnoiditis (AA) Questions Answ...   As far as medications, everyone is so different, but one medication that is not traditionally given anymore but works AMAZING for AA is injectable Ketorolac (Toradol). This is an anti-inflammatory medication like ibuprofen, but much stronger. AA reacts very negatively to inflammation in the body, so anything that can be done to reduce inflammation is key. Ketorolac can be hard on the liver so doctors shy away from it, but Dan has taken it for years without any impact that way...they blood test him regularly to make sure his liver is good. I have MS, which is also an inflammatory disease, and when I stick to this diet http://www.swankmsdiet.org/the-diet it is NIGHT AND DAY difference in how I feel. Dan has not successfully stuck to this diet to see how it impacts his pain lol...but we try to eat minimal foods that cause inflammation. Dan also takes Gabapentin which helps a little and he has a Baclofen pump. This is something that they did not think would help him, but when they did a trial, it relieved so much pain that he had it put in. Unfortunately, it doesn't relieve all the pain like the trial did, but it does drastically improve it. The main medication that Dan is on daily to control his pain and allow him to live a decent life is injectable Hydromorphone. The strength he takes is 50 mg/ml which is a strength that only one compounding pharmacy in the US will produce and it is HARD to find a dr willing to prescribe it because it is such a crazy strong opioid. This is a medication that Dr. Tennant started prescribing to him as Dr. Tennant believed that no one should live daily with human torture...he's a saint and such an amazing Dr. but unfortuantely was shut down by the DEA. During Trumps war on drugs, they targeted Dr. Tennant to make an example out of him... saying that he was prescribing crazy amounts of pain meds and having people sell them which is insane. Anyways, that's another story for another day lol. So advice in a nutshell, keep researching Arachnoiditis, research Tennant's work and treatment plan, gather info and educate your doctors."
