Most might not know that U.S. Army Japan has hosted a unique bilateral program with the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force for more than 20 years. It’s the Cooperative Work Program, also known as Co-Op. The Co-Op aims to not only strengthen the bilateral relationship between USARJ and the JGSDF, but the participants are also able to communicate personally and cross-train with each other to enhance their professional development. In October, five JGSDF members came to Camp Zama from different units across Japan to spend 10 weeks with U.S. Soldiers who volunteered to be their sponsors. The U.S. Army Garrison Japan Public Affairs Office followed two teams: one from the Garrison, and one from U.S. Army Aviation Battalion Japan. Here is a look at the Aviation team!
