Cruising to Nimmo Bay from the Broughton Archipelago - Boating the BC Coast Summer 2025

2025 Boating Video Playlist -    • Boating Summer 2025 Coastal British Columbia   In the last video, we were anchored in the Broughton Archipelago near Madrona Island. We enjoyed a mix of rainy and sunny days, and when calm, warm weather arrived, we decided to head north to Nimmo Bay, the farthest north we’ve ever gone in our boat. A bucket list location for Anne. Crossing the often rough Queen Charlotte Strait on a serene day, we explored islands and anchored in Clayton Bay for a day. Clayton Bay is a large anchorage with lots of space and a pretty little cove. From Clayton Bay to Nimmo Bay, we had to navigate several narrow passages with strong currents, so we timed the tides carefully. We visited Turnbull Cove, a scenic spot with a trail to a lake. All along the way we were treated with views of Mount Stephens, one of the most recognizable peaks in the region. We enjoyed picturesque views of green, heavily forested islets and steep hillsides. Our journey culminated at Nimmo Bay, where we passed a luxurious off-grid wellness resort, spotted bears, and anchored in a tranquil, spacious bay with an estuary at one end.
