In this interview, we are delighted to speak with Dr. Phyll Opoku-Gyimah, a trailblazer, global equality champion, and leading voice for LGBTQ+ rights. Among her many roles, she serves as Executive Director of DIVA Charitable Trust, CEO & Founder of UK Black Pride, Patron of Micro Rainbow, and sits on the SKY Diversity Advisory Council. 🟣 DIVA Charitable Trust: UK based charity dedicated to elevating, celebrating and supporting LGBTQIA+ women and non binary people through visibility, representation and community building. Originally built on the legacy of DIVA magazine, the world’s leading publication for queer women and non binary people, the Trust expands that mission beyond media into events, research, advocacy and partnerships that drive real social change and inclusion.UK 🟣 BLACK PRIDE: UK based organisation and community movement founded in 2005, best known for producing the world’s largest celebration dedicated to LGBTQIA+ people of African, Asian, Caribbean, Latin American and Middle Eastern descent. They provide a safe, empowering and inclusive space to celebrate diverse sexualities, gender identities, cultures and expressions, and champions visibility, unity, advocacy and cultural celebration for Black and people of colour within the LGBTQ+ community 🟣 MICRO RAINBOW: UK based not for profit social enterprise supporting LGBTQI asylum seekers and refugees who have fled persecution and discrimination because of their sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression or intersex status. 🟣 SKY’S DIVERSITY ADVISORY COUNCIL: diversity and inclusion leaders who advise Sky’s leadership on the development and implementation of inclusion initiatives impacting corporate governance, workforce, and supplier diversity.
