#1 Jazz Violin, Swing Bowing - Violino Jazz, arcate swing D major scale (or G major if you prefere) is an excellent way to learn jazz (swing) on your violin. Unlike western music used for dance or marches that brings back strong emphasis on the first movement, African American music moves the accents on 2 and 4, introducing the concepts of "swing". Practicing with the metronome on 2 and 4 can develop and improve the approach to this type of music. Swing eighths are notated as regular straight eighths but are performed unevenly, in a quasi-triplet rhythm where the first note is twice as long as the second. We can however note common bowing problems. By playing long and short notes, quickly you’ll arrive at the tip of the bow (starting from the middle of the bow). It's a good role to tie 2nd and 3rd 8th notes (E and F#), 4th and 5th (G and A), 6th and 7th (B and C#) etc. It's comfortable to play 8th notes in the upper part of the bow. In alternative it's a good role to tie 2nd and 3rd 8th notes (E and F#), 6th and 7th (B and C#) etc. After practicing with different bowing, enjoy your play and improvise by mixing them to create your own bowing with different scales. www.stefanozeni.com For donation: https://paypal.me/steviolino?locale.x...
